We showed how STAR*D’s authors had manipulated the data to manufacture fraudulent results. The same falsehoods are taught in continuing education programs to previously credentialed psychiatrists. In addition, since STAR*D’s publication, the prescription of these drugs is generating and exacerbating depression more than alleviating it.
