In 2019, Maryanne Demasi and I found that 74% of popular websites attributed depression to a chemical imbalance or claimed that drugs could correct such an imbalance. Most pathetically, the MHRA tries to get off the hook and escape their responsibility by saying that the PILs have undergone consultation with target patient groups.

A new article published in BMC Medicine finds that antidepressant use in two Scottish regions increased 27% between 2012 and 2019. While the occurrence of potential high-risk use decreased slightly between 2012 and 2019 (from 37.9% among adult residents between 2012 and 2019.
